Laminate Installation: What to expect
We want you to be well-prepared on your laminate installation day. Knowing what to expect before, during, and after your installation will make for a smoother process. We take pride in our installation services and aim to make the process as painless as possible for you.
We'll start the process by removing all furniture and other objects from the area where the laminate is going. Before your appointment, we'll discuss any unusually large or bulky objects that may require special attention from our team. Before our crew arrives, we'll also need you to empty the contents of any china cabinets, closets & drawers.
We may also want to discuss a door plan, how we will get the laminate in and out of your home, and talk about subflooring removal before installation day.
Rest assured that the Custom Floor & Design team will be available to answer any questions that you might have before the installation begins. So if you have them, always feel free to reach out.
Be prepared to stay home on your installation day. Your presence will help ensure that our crew has the right directives and works in the correct areas of your home. We'll do our best, upon arriving, to give you a realistic expectation of how long the job will take.
Your installation crew will be using a variety of tools while working on your laminate. Please make sure that your children and pets are kept out of the work area on installation day. Safety is a top priority for us.
We also recommend that, prior to the completion of the installation, you discuss the goals of the installation with our crew. This will ensure both sides are on the same page and make for a more seamless installation.
If you are sensitive to dust and odors, good ventilation should be established for 48 to 72 hours after installation. Open windows & turn on fans, if possible.
After that, we recommend that you simply sit back and enjoy your new laminate floors. Should any post-installation questions arise, the team at Custom Floor & Design is always available to you.
