There were more showrooms & custom installations in Fairfax & Chantilly, however Custom Floor & Design was the best because of their quality , price and very friendly customer service. I had no complaint or any quality issue after installation at my daughter house. I highly recommend this place to everyone.

Custom Floor & Design did an amazing job replacing our old flooring with a solid, hand scraped hickory wood floor. James, our estimator, was responsive, kind, and courteous during the entire process. While Ceasar and his team were highly experienced, and professional in laying our floors and making our house look beautiful. In my opinion, there are very few companies remaining that actually care about your experience during construction and beyond, and they are definitely one of those few. James Park did a great job at our Clifton, VA house. He was very quick and professional and produced a very reasonable estimate. We put wood in the basement and the upstairs bedrooms.

None of us quite know the outcome of the finished service and final product when contracting. We can say without reservation our expectations were exceeded. The crew and project manager were incredibly detailed and careful in their work; exhibited superior knowledge and craftsmanship; and just as important we grew to trust and feel comfortable with all the staff in our house over the five days needed to complete the job. My townhouse in Manassas was built in 2017. The townhouse included some hardwood flooring in the foyer and the kitchen on the second level as part of the base price. I chose not to pay for upgrades with the builder for additional hardwood flooring on the first and second levels as well as hardwood stairs.

For the past few years, I’ve received the Prince William County Best Pick Reports Quality Home Services Guide and contemplated upgrading the carpeted flooring and stairs. Of the four recommended flooring companies, I was initially interested in Custom Floor due to their comparable homeowner satisfaction results and closer proximity to my home. However, I hadn’t really made a final decision until my first interaction with the company. On February 25th, I was in Chantilly getting my car serviced and decided to visit Custom Floor as a walk-in afterwards. I asked to speak with someone from sales. I was immediately greeted by Chris Hovan. I brought model floorplans, information about the existing hardwood flooring, and my own measurements. Basically, I wanted hardwood stairs and flooring throughout my home except for the bedrooms. Chris provided a rough estimate and answered all my questions. Based upon the initial meeting, I felt very comfortable and confident in my decision to go with Custom Floor for my project.

On February 28th, Chris visited my home to take exact measurements. A detailed quote was provided on March 5th. Based upon the prices paid for the foyer and the kitchen with the builder, the quote by Custom Floors was considered fair and reasonable. Removal of the carpet and installation of the hardwood flooring didn’t begin until March 24th, due to the necessary lead-time with ordering materials, scheduling, and my availability.

The installation team included a site lead and four installers. All five were highly experienced, worked independently to largely complete the project in one day. Due to a minor error in estimating the square footage (28 sq ft/carton x 13 cartons versus 24 sq ft/carton x 15 cartons) of the flooring and redoing the custom starter step on each level with exact measurements and diagonal cuts, the project was completed on March 29th. However, I didn’t mind the slight delay at all, given the final outcome. I had already paid for the hardwood flooring in terms of square footage and did not have to pay for the replacement starter steps. I appreciated the use of a single board for the starter steps versus combining planks like the builder. Also, the installation of the hardwood flooring by Custom Floor was much better than the builder. Custom Floors paid attention to detail, especially with the custom cuts, trim carpentry, caulking, and touchup painting. In addition, the installers covered my furniture with plastic and did a thorough job with removing debris and cleanup throughout the process.

Custom Floors were extremely professional during every step of the process. The installation team did a phenomenal job, exceeding my expectations. The beautiful hardwood flooring and stairs elevated the look and value of my home. I had a tremendous experience with Custom Floors and would highly recommend them. Five stars for a job well done!

I just had Customer Flooring & Design in Chantilly VA, put hardwood floors in my house. I can’t say enough positive things about them. That had a very large selection of flooring and some of the best prices around. My flooring specialist, Benny, was extremely helpful. He didn’t apply any pressure but was always available to answer questions. The team that put in my floors did a an outstanding job! A very professional outfit.
